Our guest today is South Korean girl group Beauty Box. The group, which debuted in 2021 with 6 members, is now continuing on its way with 4 members. Gahyun, Sori, Chaeeun and Via, who returned to the group after graduation, are waiting for you to read our interview to get to know Beauty Box, who is preparing to release a new song~

1. Hello! Thank you for accepting our interview offer! First of all, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Grup: One, two, three! Hello, Light Twinkle, greetings from Beauty Box!
Gahyun: Hello there! I’m Beauty Box co-leader Gahyun~
Sori: Hello, Sori, the voice of Beauty Box. Nice to meet you!
Chaeeun: Merhaba, Ben Beauty Box’tan Chaeeun.
Via: Hello, I am Indonesian member Via (VIA).
2. You debuted as Beauty Box in 2021 and you are already two years into your journey. What has been the most valuable lesson you have learned on this journey?
Gahyun: I think that in any journey there are going to be difficult, sad and painful days, but it is the little special moments that make you forget those difficulties and make that difficult time so precious.
Sori: We want to give back with good songs and performances for the people who care and love us. We want to put more effort for our fans!
Chaeeun: Even if things don’t go the way we want, I try to think more positively, without giving up in every situation, thinking “I’m lucky even this far, we will do better”.
Via: Although I didn’t debut with Beauty Box members, as a new member, I will learn a lot from other members by performing and promoting together.
3. It’s been a year since your last comeback and your most popular song Boggle Boggle. But we are curious about your memories of that time. For example, how was the music video shoot?
Gahyun: Shooting the music video was really exciting. It was a concept we tried for the first time and the set felt like a bathroom or a shower stall, it was still an unforgettable shoot.
Sori: The shooting of the music video for ‘Boggle Boggle’ lasted 24 hours as far as I remember. I remember a moment almost at the end of the shoot when I really, really wanted to eat a chocolate snack on the table. I felt like I was drooling even when I looked at the picture of the chocolate because my sugar was low. I ate it right after we finished the shoot without any problems haha 🙂
4. What was it like behind the scenes of the music shows? Do you have any interesting or funny incidents during your promotions that you remember?
Gahyun: I’m usually very nervous before going to any program, because I’m a very timid person. I have a lot of thoughts like, “Will I make a mistake?” or “What if my team members or the sunbaes are scared too?”. But everyone is very kind and this kindness reduces my nervousness, so we always complete the programs in a good way. It was also fun to meet the other artists.
Sori: After the ‘Boggle Boggle’ event was over, we ordered takeaway to where we were staying. We had Mara hotpot, Mara skewers, and Kung Pao chicken, but when I looked at the photos again, I realized that the portions were smaller than we expected. We ate really happily regardless of the portions. Good job!
Chaeeun: Although I don’t have any music program experience yet, I’m working hard with the new song to come out, so if there is an interesting moment, I will share it with you.
Via: So far I don’t have a special memory in music programs, but I look forward to future activities.
5. Congratulations to Via on her graduation! With her graduation, is Beauty Box planning to start working on a new album or single?
Via: We are working on a new project, especially we have plans for a special album with the members. We are working hard for the new album, please wait for us with great anticipation.
6. What is each member’s favorite Beauty Box song?
Gahyun: My favorite is ‘PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ’. I love hiking and this song is great for my hikes.
Sori: My current favorite is ‘Rat a Tat’! It’s so much fun and it’s great to hear my refreshing voice in the song.
Chaeeun: “Thank U” is my choice. The lyrics are very beautiful. Also, we sang a reinterpretation of the company president’s song, so it’s more meaningful and special for me.
Via: I don’t know the other members’ favorite songs, but probably ‘Boggle Boggle’ or ‘Rat a Rat’ have a special place for the old members. So I listened to these two songs and decided to become a Beauty Box member. It seems like the new album I joined will be even more special for me.
7. 2023 has come to an end and a new year awaits us to realize our ambitions and goals. As a group and individually, what are the goals you want to achieve in 2024?
Gahyun: As a group, we want to meet our fans with a new album with our original member Sori Unni and our new members Chaeun and Via. We also hope that all the projects we are preparing will be successful. Personally, I want to have a smooth, healthy and happy year.
Sori: I definitely want to make a comeback in 2024! I hope to come back with a concept where we can offer a different appeal. Also, I want to learn how to write and compose lyrics. I want to be a singer with a wide musical range.
Chaeeun: As a group, together with all members, I would like to spend the last day of the year 2024. Personally, I wish that we can all have a healthy and happy end of the year.
Via: Personally, I want to make an official debut with the new album and I want both the members and myself to be successful.
8. We would like to ask some questions specific to each member. Sori, you have great skin and fans are very curious about your skincare routine. Can you share it with us?
Sori: My routine is quite simple, in the morning after cleansing my face I use toner and moisturizer, in the evening I finish with toner, ampoule and moisturizer! I often do masks, if I am concerned about my skin before or after the program, I apply a mask.
9. Via, we’ve heard you love to cook, what’s your favorite dish to make?
Via: It always depends on what I want. I usually make steak, various kinds of fried rice and pasta because it is delicious. But I find it especially fun to make desserts such as crème brûlée, tiramisu and macarons.
10. Gahyun, we found out that you love animals and that you have a dog. What is your dog’s name? Would you like to adopt another pet in the future?
Gahyun: Our dog’s name is ‘Wandu.’ I have no plans to get another pet as long as I have Wandu. I love you, Wandu! 💚
11. Chaeeun, you play mobile games. Which games are you good at? What’s your favorite game?
Chaeeun: I like the ‘KartRider’ game on mobile the most. Shooting games make my heart flutter but racing games, I like KartRider the most because I see my ranking in real time.
12. Finally, is there anything you would like to say to K-Pop fans?
Sori: Please, keep supporting our future events. We love you ♡
