Hello everyone! We’re back with a brand-new interview, and this time our guest is Embers.
Formed by Kairi and Gai, Embers captured the attention of both fans and new listeners in August 2025 with their debut single “Crimson Rain.”
With hints of new music on the way, we at Eastwave had a short but delightful chat with Embers about both the group’s story and their very first track, Crimson Rain. Enjoy reading!
1. Hello, Thank you so much for accepting our interview request! Can you please introduce yourself for our readers?
We are Embers.
I’m Gai, the vocalist for Embers. I write and compose many of our songs, and I also play bass and piano.
I’m Kairi, the guitarist. My role is to bring out the emotions in our music and create the atmosphere for our listeners.
2. How did the idea of forming Embers come about?
We are former members of a band produced by YOSHIKI from X JAPAN. When that chapter ended, there was a lot of pain which left us on the verge of giving up music altogether.
But the voices and messages from our fans, and our own belief in music gave us the strength to continue.
We made a promise to each other to take this fading fire inside us and ignite it again together from scratch.
That promise was the very beginning of Embers.
3. Having worked together in previous projects, how have those experiences influenced Embers’ music and style?
Both the struggles and the joy of our past have become blessings to us. It taught us not only to focus on ourselves, but also how to lift the energy of Embers as a whole.
Even when we write music separately, our songs always carry a connection. As if they were meant to meet. That bond is what naturally flows into the music of Embers.

4. Crimson Rain left a strong first impression among your fans and new listeners. What was the main inspiration or emotion behind creating this song?
The inspiration came from the contrast of cold rain and burning passion.
We refuse to compromise with our music and do our best to create a new blend of genres. So many of our songs have rock, orchestral elements, and even rap.
Our lyrics carry a message, and our sound carries our emotions.
For us, “Crimson Rain” is a work that embodies what it means to express ourselves as musicians.
5. Crimson Rain was a very hands-on project for Embers, with the members deeply involved in shaping its sound and atmosphere. How did your individual ideas — from Gai’s lyrical and vocal work to Kairi’s guitar arrangements — blend together to create the final song?
Our creativity seamlessly blends into one.
It feels as though our instruments and voices are in constant dialogue. We trust each other and motivate one another, until a song naturally comes alive.
That is the essence of Embers.
6. After your premium event, what kind of feedback did you receive from fans? Were there any surprising reactions?
Meeting our fans face-to-face again after so long, hearing “welcome back,” and seeing tears of joy… it was overwhelming.
It reminded us that this is the path we are meant to walk, and we will never take that support for granted.

7. Looking ahead, what exciting plans or directions do you envision for Embers in the near future?
Even if Embers begins as only a small spark, we want it to grow into a light that can guide someone lost in the dark.
We are already moving toward our next song release, determined to bring even greater intensity, creating a song our fans enjoy while protecting the unique world of Embers.
8. Lastly, What message or feeling would you like people to take away after listening to your music?
There will always be a fire burning in our music.
We hope that fire reaches your heart, reignites something within you, and reminds you that you are not alone.
No matter where you are in the world, no matter what you face, music has the power to connect us.
That is the promise from us.
